O.B.E. B.Sc M.B ChM. D.M. (Edinburgh) Not listed in the Book of Remembrance. She is said to be the first female commissioned officer in the British Army, when as a captain she worked as a medical officer in war hospitals in Cairo. In 1916-17 she was commanding officer of the 7th Medical Unit of the Scottish Women's Hospitals for Foreign Service, Macedonia, Serbian front. Early education at Abbotsleigh and Sydney Girls High Schools.
