Book of Remembrance entry

O.B.E., B.Sc., B.Sc.Agr.; M.A. (Oxon.), F .L .S .: Major, 23rd Divisional Train, B.E.F., France and Italy. Enlisting in Oxford in September, 1914, was commissioned to 7th Oxford and Bucks. Light Infantry but transferred to R.A.S.C. in October. Crossing in May, 1915, served in France till 1917 and in Italy till early 1919. Returning to England, was demobilised in November and spent a year in U.S.A., arriving in Australia in February, 1921. Promoted captain, 1st February, 1916, and later acting major. Awarded O.B.E. in 1919 and Mentioned in Despatches twice. Rhodes Scholar, 1913. Principal, Hawkesbury Agricultural College. Early education at Cootamundra Public and Sydney High Schools.
