Book of Remembrance entry

M.B., Ch.M. : Captain, R.A.M.C., B.E.F., France, India, Salonika, Aden and Germany. Enlisting 14th March, 1915, and sailing on 20th reported at War Office 2nd May. Was sent to 46th Field Ambulance as secondlieutenant on 9th and, crossing to France 10th July, served until invalided from Somme via Rouen to England 20th December, 1916. Arriving in India 13th June, 1917, remained on active service and was posted to charge of Meerut General Hospital for service in Salonika 22nd September, 1918, sailing 10th October. Re-embarking for India 2nd February, 1919, was granted six months' sick leave 27th November. Posted to Aden 10th February, 1921, to B 165 Combined Field Ambulance, taking over command of B 166 C.F.Amb. 6th March. Promoted captain, 7th May, 1919. Awarded Afghanistan Medal with clasps in 1919. Killed at Cologne, 22nd October, 1922, while serving with the British Army of Occupation. Early education at Sydney Grammar School. Later at St. Andrew's College.
