Book of Remembrance entry

M.C., M.B. : Major, A.A.M.C., A.I.F., Gallipoli, Egypt and France; also A.N. and M.E.F., New Guinea. Enlisting 14th January, 1915, and sailing 6th February, joined No. 2 Australian Stationary Hospital, Lemnos, 23rd June and 5th Australian Field Ambulance 27th November. Was R.M.O. 23rd Battn. from 10th February to 16th August, 1916, in Egypt and France and with 12th A.F.Amb. from 6th May, 1918, serving until demobilisation. Awarded M.C.* and Mentioned in Despatches. After return served in New Guinea from 1st August, 1919, to 16th June, 1921. * He attended the wounded under heavy artillery fire during operations. The aid post received a direct hit from an enemy shell.
